Extradition

Extradition

Extradition is the formal procedure for returning persons located in one country to another country for the purpose of criminal prosecution (an accusation case) or sentence for an offence for which they have been convicted of (a conviction case).

We have particular expertise in this area of the law and have access to the countries leading barristers to represent those facing extradition. We are one of the few firms based outsideLondonthat provide representation in Extradition Law.

We can represent you from the minute you are taken in to custody on an extradition warrant. From then on we will be with you every step of the way through the Initial Extradition Hearing at the Magistrates’ Court through the statutory appeals process, and if necessary by representation at the High Court by way of Judicial Review and finally the European Court of Human Rights.

Extradition can be a daunting and worrying process for anyone subject to extradition proceedings. The knowledge that you are being represented by someone who will give personal attention and will follow instructions as well as advising is paramount. Equally, the knowledge that you have a solicitor acting on your behalf who is capable of accessing legal experts across the globe who can assist with matters in the requesting state is equally paramount.

At HKH Kenwright & Cox we pride ourselves on being able to work with our clients, by listening and accommodating their views and thoughts as to how their case should proceed.
